Activity on Macbook showing up as uncategorized

Not sure why this is happening, but all of my logged data appears as uncategorized, despite it categorizing itself on my PC. Should I reinstall?

What do you mean with this?

When did it work and when did it stop working?

This is probably related to aw-watcher-window not having the right accessibility permissions. How have you configured your activitywatch install?

I am having the same issue. Brand new install. I granted ActivityWatcher, I believe the correct permissions. Is there any way to view and edit the Uncategorized items?

@sinstino It seems to work correctly for you. ActivityWatch can’t magically know how it’s supposed to categorize different apps so you have to create your own categories manually in the “Settings” page. The categories you can see are the default ones, you can add more yourself.

I downloaded AW and installed it in /Applications/ (I’m on Mac OS mojave). I run it doing the following:

  1. In a terminal window I cd to /Applications/ActivityWatch.app/Contents/MacOS
  2. Once in that directory I run ./aw-qt

But my Activity also shows as “uncategorized”, and even worse, when I open System Preferences>Security & Privacy>Privacy>Accessibility OR Automation to check permissions, I can’t even see the app “ActivityWatch” in the list to enable or disable it (as user @sinstino shows in the screenshots).
