Unable to send event to server

Hello and thank tour for the nice job you are doing with ActivityWatch.
I would need a help about what I’m doing wrong: OS windows 10, I installed web watcher on my browsers:

  • Firefox and it works well
  • Edge with the extension of chrome, unexpectedly it works, I cannot see results in /#/activity/Pc-E/browser but I can see in #/timeline so for me is enough
  • Chrome: this doesn’t work, I get the notification that it could non send event to server and to verify it is running but… if the same watcher works on Edge I’m quite sure it is working so I bet there is any other problem maybe on chrome authorization. Extension si configured to access to http://localhost:5600/* and http://localhost:5666/*
    telnet to localhost 5600 works
chrome version: Versione 85.0.4183.83 (Build ufficiale) (a 64 bit)
thnak you for any help you will be able to give me
    Regards
    Enrico

Great that edge works!
If you provide us with some info we can get the summary to possibly work on the next release, could you check what the bucket name is for edge and see what the appname for edge is in the window watcher when edge is focused?

Regarding chrome however that sounds quite strange. Since it’s not an issue I’ve ever heard of before (occasional notifications of that is not unexpected if the computer is under heavy load, but that it always fails is strange), the only tip I can give you is to debug the extension in chrome to see the exact error message which requires quite a few clicks in the settings page for extensions.

Sure,
bucket name: aw-watcher-web-edge
appname: msedge.exe

Was about to add it but realized that the support is already there, so it should work in the next version of ActivityWatch!
